Currently Available for Public Comment

• The DCMI Usage Board has reviewed the definitions of terms of the original fifteen-element Dublin Core for consistency, clarity, and conformance with the DCMI Abstract Model and proposed a set of editorial changes. Public comment will be held from 28 August through 25 September.

Past Public Comment Periods (last 12 months)

• Public comment was held from 30 May to 27 June 2006 on the following Working Drafts.
• Expressing Dublin Core metadata using XML -- see dc-architecture posting
• Expressing Dublin Core metadata using the Resource Description Framework (RDF) -- see dc-architecture posting
• Public comment was held from 13 February to 13 March 2006 on revised versions of four existing DCMI recommendations: DCMI DCSV, the DCMI Box Encoding Scheme, the DCMI Period Encoding Scheme, and the DCMI Point Encoding Scheme. This public comment period was undertaken as follow-up to an earlier public comment period, from 25 July to 22 August 2005. After finalization these revised documents have replaced the older legacy specifications as DCMI Recommendations.
• Public comment was held from 8 December 2005 to 31 January 2006 on a set of proposed editorial changes to terms in the DCMI Type Vocabulary. The comments received during this period were reported in a tabular summary and discussed at a meeting of the DCMI Usage Board on 29-30 April 2006.
